How much money have you lost to companies who market to your children?
As discussed in a previous post, children are most affected by companies targeting them with advertisements. But, did you know that you may also be affected? Children and teens purchasing influence on parents total over $130-$670 billion a year. Parents are thus affected too because they spend money on the advertised products. When your kid nags you for a product they saw in the media, you may be tempted to buy it for them, but think about the tactics companies are using to get you to buy it, and how it is actually costing you money. Remember that $15-$17 billion is spent by companies advertising to children in the US.
